Green Tea EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate)
Green tea has received a lot of press lately due to a study published on its ability to improve metabolic rate when combined with caffeine. The important component of the green tea is the EGCG (Epi gallo catechin gallate). It was found that EGCG has the ability to support an
enhanced metabolic rate. By supporting a higher metabolic rate the EGCG allows for greater calorie burning which when combined with proper diet and exercise results in weight loss. It is important that you get at least 270mg of EGCG per day, the amount shown in the research studies. Take the EGCG spread out over the day in two or three divided doses. Many non-ephedrine fat burners have turned to green tea EGCG to enhance weight loss. Green tea EGCG helps elevate metabolic rate to burn more calories.
CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)
CLA is a fatty acid supplement studied for its ability to improve lean mass to fat ratio, decreasing fat deposition (especially on the abdomen), and enhancing muscle development. CLA reduces body fat by enhancing insulin sensitivity allowing fatty acids and glucose to enter the muscles rather than the fat tissue (repartitioning of nutrients). Improved insulin
sensitivity results in an improved muscle to fat ratio (BMI - Body Mass Index). You need to take 3 to 4 grams of CLA per day in order to realize the benefits and it can take up to two months before good results are noticed. Make sure you don’t take your CLA and fat blockers at the same time, you’ll end up binding the CLA and not getting the benefits. CLA has
indicated in studies that it has benefits far beyond fat loss, such as bone density, diabetes and cancer.
