Mike DePalma, a snowmobile racer racing the national semi-pro snocross and cross country circuits for the 2011-2012 race season. Mike was raised in the Midwest and has always been around motorsports and snowmobiles. Mike was five years old when he took his first ride on a snowmobile and when he turned twelve he was eligible for a snowmobile permit. This put him squarely behind the bars of a machine with one of the most impressive power to weight ratios in existence in motorsports and all before he could drive car! Even then riding became a race amongst friends, and even when Mike was one the youngest riders in the group he was often one of the fastest. Fast forward a few years, Mikes passion for riding snowmobiles and the snowmobile industry led him to racing - pushing the sled as fast a possible through bumps, jumps and tight icy turns on the track where hundred foot jumps, hundred mile and hour speeds and banging to bars with other riders are the name of the game. Mike spends the whole year preparing, training and racing now. Snowmobile racing like other small vehicle racing is very hard on the riders body. It is second only to soccer in terms of physical intensity and taxes both the riders aerobic and anaerobic systems. Mike trains like a triathlete and a weight lifter six days a week and does all that he can to actively recover with yoga, stretching and massage. Mike has had a working relationship with Max Muscle for four years and says it is a very important part of his racing program, guiding his nutrition with meal plans, supplements and recovery products. "I couldn't advance my racing career without Max Muscle Sports nutrition. I started racing snocross in 2007 at the regional level and after two seasons full of success I realized to further my training I needed the missing piece of the puzzle - the fuel for my body, not just the fuel for my sled (snowmobile). With Max Muscle Sports Nutrition behind the team again this year I am looking forward to an exciting winter! We are taking on new challenges with an attempt at the I-500 crosscountry race in addition to the snocross program we have been running in years past, and Max Muscle has been with me in training all year and will be with me on the starting line and the finish line this winter. People have been taking notice of the success and Ski-Doo, Fly Racing, Western Powersports, HMK Clothing, Stud Boy, Powermadd, Felker Motorsports, and Colorado Powersports will all be helping this year. I am excited for winter and looking forward to a great race season" Mike DePalma TripleSix Racing, Boulder CO. |
